1. Alumina content

High aluminum porcelain: alumina content is usually more than 75%, common 85%, 95%, 99% and other high purity ceramics.

Low aluminum porcelain: alumina content is usually between 30% and 75%, common 45%, 60% and so on.

 

2. Physical properties

hardness

 

High aluminum porcelain: higher hardness, better wear resistance.

Low aluminum porcelain: low hardness, relatively poor wear resistance.

 

density

 

High aluminum porcelain: higher density, more dense structure.

Low aluminum porcelain: low density, relatively loose structure.

 

intensity

 

High aluminum porcelain: higher mechanical strength, better bending strength and compressive strength.

Low aluminum porcelain: low mechanical strength.

 

3. Thermal performance

High temperature resistance

 

High aluminum porcelain: excellent high temperature resistance, can be used in high temperature environment above 1600℃.

Low aluminum porcelain: poor high temperature resistance, usually suitable for 1200℃ below the environment.

 

Thermal shock stability

 

High aluminum porcelain: thermal shock stability is better, but not as good as low aluminum porcelain.

Low aluminum porcelain: better thermal shock stability, suitable for large temperature change environment.

 

4. Electrical properties

insulativity

 

High aluminum porcelain: excellent electrical insulation, suitable for high frequency, high pressure environment.

Low aluminum porcelain: electrical insulation performance is better, but not as good as high aluminum porcelain.

 

5. Chemical properties

Corrosion resistance

 

High aluminum porcelain: acid, alkali corrosion resistance is stronger.

Low aluminum porcelain: poor corrosion resistance, but in the general environment can still meet the demand.

 

6. Processing performance

Processing difficulty

 

High aluminum porcelain: high hardness, difficult processing, high cost.

Low aluminum porcelain: processing is relatively easy and the cost is low.

 

7. Cost

High aluminum porcelain: high raw material purity, complex production process, high cost.

Low aluminum porcelain: raw material purity is low, the production process is simple, and the cost is low.

High alumina porcelain

Electronics industry: insulators, substrates, packaging materials.

Machinery industry: wear-resistant parts, cutting tools.

Chemical industry: corrosion resistant pump valve, reactor lining.

Low-alumina porcelain
